Requirements - ----------- ### Must have: ### - Over 10 years of relevant experience - Bachelors Degree; Masters Degree with at least 8 years of experience is acceptable - Proven experience drafting engineering memorandums and delivering technical presentations - Familiarity with interferometers, optical profilometers, radiometry, and/or BRDF measurements - Demonstrated experience with laser laboratory safety procedures is highly preferred - Strong skills in Zemax and/or FRED for optical design and analysis are advantageous - Proficiency in Matlab and/or Python is a plus - Experience in drafting specifications for custom optical components is favored Responsibilities: - ---------------- - Conduct optical analysis and design of systems - Analyze gains from models of intricate optical systems - Design and assess projectors for lasers and LEDs - Perform stray light analysis - Design laboratory tests involving lasers, including Laser-induced damage testing and assessments of Visible and IR laser projectors - Set up optical benches with mounts for various components to control laser beams and perform precision optical measurements - -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Company: - ------- At MANTECH, we are on the lookout for a driven and customer-focused Principal Optical Systems Engineer to become part of our dynamic team in Albuquerque, NM.
