Akkodis is seeking a **Machinist II 1st shift** for a **Contract to Hire** with a client in **Grand Junction, CO.** The ideal candidate willoperate CNC mills and lathes to manufacture precision components while ensuring quality and safety standards are met. **Rate Range:** $34/Hour to $36/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. **Machinist II 1st shift Responsibilities include:** * Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machining equipment to produce precision components. * Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD\&T specifications to manufacture parts accurately. * Inspect finished components using calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators to ensure quality standards. * Monitor machine performance and make tool offsets, adjustments, and feed/speed calculations as needed. * Assemble and maintain cutting tools while identifying and addressing tooling wear or damage. * Maintain a safe, organized work environment by following safety protocols and 6S standards. **Required Qualifications:** * High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required; technical machining training preferred. * Minimum 5 years of experience operating and setting up CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machining equipment. * Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning \& Tolerancing (GD\&T). * Proficiency with CNC machine setup, G \& M codes/Mazatrol, and precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
