Requirements - ----------- ### Must have: ### - High School diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of experience in a hotel or relevant field required. - Minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in a hotel or similar field preferred. - Trade school training and/or college coursework in a related area is advantageous. - Flexibility to work long hours as necessary. - Ability to exert over 100 pounds of force occasionally, over 50 pounds frequently, and over 20 pounds constantly. - Maintain a warm, approachable demeanor consistently. - Proficient in both verbal and written communication with employees and guests at all levels in a courteous, friendly, and service-oriented manner. - Skilled in listening to and addressing concerns from employees and guests effectively. - Capable of multitasking and prioritizing departmental activities to meet deadlines. - Attend all mandatory hotel meetings and training sessions. - Maintain regular attendance aligned with Highgate Hotel Standards. - Uphold high standards of personal grooming, including wearing the appropriate uniform and name tag. - Adhere to Highgate Hotel Standards and guidelines to promote safe and efficient hotel operations. - Focus on productivity, identify issues, and assist in implementing solutions. - Proficient in problem-solving, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and resolving issues as needed. - Able to understand and apply complex information and data from various sources to achieve goals. - Willingness to cross-train in other hotel-related areas. - Capable of maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. - Demonstrated initiative in anticipating guest or operational needs. - Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Responsibilities: - ---------------- - Conduct repairs on hotel air conditioning systems, including changing filters, cleaning coils, and replacing motors. - Execute preventive maintenance on all equipment such as boilers, chillers, and HVAC systems. - Take necessary readings on equipment for inspection and upkeep. - Test and document readings from cooling towers. - Replace and program televisions as needed. - Replace light switches, electrical receptacles, light bulbs, and fixtures as required. - Carry out furniture repairs as necessary. - Replace and fix pumps as part of routine maintenance. - Handle plumbing repairs, including unclogging drains and replacing fittings. - Read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams. - Trace, repair, and maintain water lines of all types. - Troubleshoot and fix kitchen equipment issues. - Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed. - Carry out work in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. - Test, clean, and maintain swimming pools and spas. - Paint designated areas as needed. - Repair and finish sheetrock and various types of wall coverings. - Fix and program the hotels electronic locking system. - Assist in supervising other engineering staff members. - Help schedule preventive maintenance tasks effectively. - --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Company: - ------- Highgate is a prominent real estate investment and hospitality management firm, managing over $15 billion in assets globally across 400+ hotels in North America, Europe, the Caribbean, and Latin America.
