**Location:** Sterling Heights, MI **Salary:** $55.00 USD Hourly - $58.62 USD Hourly **Description:** **Title: Senior Software Integration Engineer** **Duration: 12 Months with the possibility of extension** **Locations: Sterling Heights, MI** **Position Description:** We are seeking an individual with experience and a passion for software integration of real-time, embedded software. The Senior Software Integration Engineer plans and performs a variety of tasks across the areas of integrating hardware modules into a combat vehicle system, integrating software items onto Linux Operating Systems, scripting, networking, cybersecurity hardening and scans, troubleshooting, problem solving, and software verification testing. **The Senior Software Integration Engineer:** Integrates and tests software applications running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and hardware components on a combat vehicle system Applies knowledge of Ethernet and CAN bus within software applications or tools to test and troubleshoot problems Collaborates with multidisciplinary engineering and vehicle test teams to investigate reported issues and analyze collected data Mentors less experienced software engineers to develop their software integration and test, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ensures that technical approach is consistent with established engineering principles and practices Ensures that product outcomes meet customer needs and that customer and company technical, system, performance, process, and quality requirements are met **Skills Required:** Integration and testing of software applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Operating Systems Ability to build and maintain a software and hardware integration testbed Understanding of Ethernet and CAN bus protocols Git and Jira/Gitlab Configuration Management tools Exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills are a MUST Familiarity with current computer applications and technologies in applicable engineering disciplines Ability to apply critical thinking to solve technical design and development problems Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with customers to solve technical problems Ability to travel to the customer site Ability to work on combat vehicles systems **Skills Preferred:** Familiarity with embedded systems Familiarity with scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, Python) Familiarity with C and C programming Familiarity with VxWorks or other RTOS Familiarity with relevant military and commercial design standards Familiarity with MIL-STD-1553 Familiarity with UML modeling tools Familiarity with DOORS Familiarity with CMMI for development Familiarity with Qt Framework for front end GUIs utilizing QML Familiarity with Ethernet based protocols (SSL/TLS, SSH, SFTP) Familiarity with Nessus and Coverity cybersecurity scans Familiarity with hardening of systems and applying STIG rules Familiarity with the configuration and use of virtual machine **Experience Required:** Minimum of 4 years of software integration experience Integration of software applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux o Packaging software as RPMs and binary executables o Drivers, shared objects, and static libraries **Experience Preferred:** Experience using NI TestStand Familiarity with combat vehicle functionality and capability **Education Required:** Bachelor's degree in STEM field Medical, dental, and vision insurance are available to qualified candidates who meet eligibility requirements.
