This position is responsible for determining eligibility for Medicaid and/or Food and Nutrition Services (FNS), interviewing clients, reviewing documentation, and completing data entry in NC FAST.**Job responsibilities include:** * Completing timely and accurate applications, recertifications, and changes. * Completing NCFAST Tasks daily. * Entering data into NC FAST and county document management system. * Attending training. * Staying abreast of policy updates. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Knowledge of NC FAST * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite * General computer knowledge and ability to learn and navigate various programs and databases * Excellent customer service skills * Ability to prioritize tasks and reassess as priorities change in a fast-paced environment * Ability to de-escalate upset customers / remain calm in stressful situations * Strong written and oral communication skills Must be available to work during emergency situations.**Education and Experience** * Graduation from an accredited associate degree program in Human Services Technology, Social Services Associated, Paralegal Technology, Business Administration, Secretarial, or a closely related curriculum; or * Graduation from high school and three years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public contact, which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling of data, analysis of data and/or performance of mathematical program; or * An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Direct experience with NC FAST is highly desirable as well as the Intro to Human Services and Income Maintenance Caseworker - NC FAST Certificates.**Physical Requirements** Must be physically able to operate a variety of office equipment.
