Ready to Start Your Career with the City of Temple? **Summary** Under general supervision, the Heavy-duty Truck Technician inspects, diagnoses, and repairs moderately complex issues associated with diesel-powered vehicles and machines, like trucks, forklifts and construction equipment. **Essential Duties And Responsibilities** * Performs preventative maintenance services in conformance to manufacturer specifications * Diagnoses and repairs heavy-duty vehicle and equipment systems * Orders parts as needed * Responds to road calls * Conducts road and static testing to verify repairs * Takes vehicles to and from outside vendors for repairs and services * Maintains a clean and orderly Fleet Shop * Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines * Performs other duties as assigned **Minimum Qualifications** * High school diploma or equivalent * Four (4) years experience as a Diesel Engine Technician or the equivalent combination of education and experience * Furnishes own hand tools **Certificates, Licenses, Registrations** * Valid Class C Driver's license * EPA Section 609 Certification within 30 days of employment * ASE Certifications: T4, T5\& T6 (may be substituted with an additional 4 years of heavy duty technician experience) Thank you for your interest in the position.
