The California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and innovative leader to serve as Chief of the Personnel Management Division (PMD). This executive-level position leads statewide programs and policies that influence how California departments classify positions, establish compensation, manage their workforces, and deliver critical public services. As a key member of CalHR's executive team and a trusted advisor to departmental leadership, the Division Chief will set strategic direction for PMD, oversee complex classification and compensation initiatives, inform collective bargaining and legislative decisions, and cultivate strong partnerships with state agencies, labor relations professionals, and other statewide stakeholders.
