Association Manager

Lincoln

$55,000

**Job Overview** Multiporpoise Management needs a new HOA manager for our growing vacation rental business. It's not often you see the terms "HOA management" and "vacation rentals" in the same sentence, unless a community is trying to ban Airbnbs in their neighborhood. We buck conventions. Multiporpoise is a company focused on short-term rentals that latched onto HOA management first as a side-hustle, then made it one of our core competencies. We follow what's sometimes called the "blue ocean strategy" or "hedgehog concept." We know what we're good at and do better than anyone else: vacation rentals at 1970s-era buildings formerly known as "condotels." You may already be familiar with some of our popular locations, including the Sea Gypsy, D Sands and Surftides Plaza in Lincoln City, as well as Bend Riverside in Central Oregon and The Polynesian Resort in Ocean Shores, Washington. These communities primarily consist of investment properties, or what people generally describe as "Airbnbs." HOA management comes in for the governance of these communities, which are organized as homeowners associations. We are the professionals that carry out their day-to-day operations. We're also the Airbnb hosts that make them all their money. If you're a current or former HOA manager, you might be used to members squawking over parking spaces, the neighbor who doesn't landscape his yard to code, or complains about the dog that's pissing on the rhododendrons. Our communities are different. First, our members all own trophy properties. Second, when they show up at them, they're usually in a good mood because they're on vacation and have a six pack in the fridge. Association manager work is a people-person's job. You'll work with the volunteers who serve on each community's board of directors. Some days you'll manage projects. Others you'll solve problems. One day you might call a landscaper. Some days you'll sit in on board meetings. Others you'll call the dog catcher to snatch the mutt that just crapped in the flower bed. Just kidding! Every day will be a different adventure, every quick question might have a subplot, and staying organized is basically a superpower. There is a tremendous opportunity for you to grow with us. The right person will have an opportunity to become part of our C Suite as we continue to expand. Our owner and founder started Airbnb'ing his parents' single condo at the Sea Gypsy in 2010. Sixteen years later we now manage 290 Airbnbs in seven condo buildings. There are numerous condotels on the West Coast that need our help, and our continued expansion is manifest destiny. Remote work is a possibility, depending on where you live and your experience level. **What We're Looking For** Don't have previous HOA experience? No worries. We're excited to talk to you as well, especially if you've worked in adjacent fields that might include: * Property management * Business administration * Hotels or vacation rentals * Finance or accounting * Customer service leadership * Taco Bell **What You'll Do** Look, the job site told us we needed to list five to seven tasks here that you'll do on a regular basis. This stuff doesn't sound sexy on paper, but if you're good at it, you'll find this work enjoyable. If you're not good at it, well, you'll find that out, too. * Oversee the day-to-day operations of each homeowners association * Serve as the primary point of contact for board members and homeowners * Manage vendor relationships and coordinate projects * Assist with budgeting and financial oversight of each community * Review invoices, write checks, put checks in envelopes, lick stamps, stamp the envelopes, walk to mailbox, mail the envelopes * Change the coffee pot **The ideal candidate is:** * An excellent written and verbal communicator * Comfortable working with homeowners, board members, vendors, and contractors * Wants to be part of a company with a unique culture that's on the cusp of growth * Has a sense of humor and likes to inject it into their daily work * Takes the job seriously but doesn't always take themselves too seriously * Highly organized and detail-oriented blah blah blah * Likes to work in a fast-paced environment blah blah blah **Required Qualifications** * Valid driver's license (bonus points for Mario Kart efficiency) * Ability to pass a criminal background check (no bank robbers, please) * Good credit history (required due to financial responsibilities related to association accounts) * Basic computer and technology proficiency (Windows 95 or better) * Minimum typing speed of 25 WPM (finger-peckers welcome) * Ability to navigate stairs and lift up to 25 pounds (bonus points for spiral staircases and 11.3398 kilos) * Strong organizational and communication skills blah blah blah **Preferred Qualifications** * Previous HOA or association management experience * Professional training or certifications related to HOA or property management * College degree * Experience working with boards, committees, or community organizations * Great with a bow staff **Compensation, Benefits, \& Schedule** **Annual Salary:** $55,000 to $65,000 or more, depending on experience * We believe experience should be rewarded and are willing to offer higher compensation for candidates with proven HOA management experience. **Benefits include:** * Health insurance (comes in handy if you get hit by a Cybertruck) * Life insurance (pays for your funeral if you do not survive the Cybertruck) * Dental insurance (if the Cybertruck knocks a tooth loose) * Paid time off, vacation, and sick time * Paid birthday off * Performance-based bonus opportunities * Complimentary two-night stays at company-managed properties after one year of employment * Wellness and fitness-related benefits, including gym membership * Flexible scheduling opportunities * Employee perks and team activities (we do fun stuff with our employees) **Schedule** * Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. * The right candidate will be eligible for remote work (but we'd like to see you in person on occasion) **Why Join Multiporpoise Management?** All of our top executives started in entry-level positions. Incentives to help you pursue condo ownership are available to employees who have reached certain milestones.
