Associate, EH&S Sustainability and Strategic Programs

**Overview** The associate is responsible for providing general support, while working under the guidance and mentorship of a Section Manager, on Environmental, Health and Safety (EH\&S) requirements related to project planning and implementation. This position does not provide employment pursuant to the terms of a STEM OPT Training Plan. **Responsibilities** **Core Responsibilities** * Develop proactive, customer-centric culture, foster trust and confidence among our internal customers in EHS, operations and engineering. * Provide general support to EH\&S staff and engineering organizations during engineering planning, design, and construction activities for individual projects and routine/recurring work. * Provide support to EH\&S staff and other organizations concerning EH\&S project and programs rate case planning, accounting and appropriation, budgeting, scheduling, and milestone tracking. * Provide executive-level status reporting across portfolio. * Respond to operating department requests for assistance and support on EH\&S issues. * Conduct periodic compliance inspections in support of the International Standard Organization 14001 Program. * Support Green House Gases source data acquisition, analysis, and reporting. * Perform other related tasks and assignments as required while continuing to work under the guidance of a section manager. **Qualifications** **Required Education/Experience** * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and a minimum of one year experience including cumulative work or equivalent internship/co-op experience OR six months of Con Edison co-op or internship experience. **Relevant Work Experience** * Must be highly motivated and committed to delivering excellence in the area of EH\&S and recognize the critical importance of teamwork, required. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, required. * Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products (SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), required. * Ability to handle multiple work assignments, changing priorities, and meeting deadlines, required. * Knowledge and experience in technical whitepaper drafting, capital and O\&M work classification, appropriations and authorizations, budgets, schedules, and milestones, required. **Skills and Abilities** * Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills * Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc. * Ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities **Licenses and Certifications** * Driver's License Required **Physical Demands** * Ability to read small print and symbols **Additional Physical Demands** * The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. * Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
