**Senior Accountant \| Maritime Defense Tech (SaaS Hardware)** **Location:** Arlington, VA (Onsite) **Compensation:** $140,000 -- $180,000 Equity **The Mission:** Build the financial bedrock for global maritime intelligence. **The Opportunity** We are past the "zero-to-one" phase. We are now scaling a complex, venture-backed hardware-enabled SaaS business that deploys sensor arrays across the world's oceans. We aren't looking for a "staff-plus" accountant; we are looking for a **Strategic Senior Accountant**---a Big 4-trained operator who wants to be the right hand to our Controller. You will own the integrity of a multi-entity GL, architect our NetSuite environment, and bridge the gap between complex GAAP compliance (ASC 606/360) and rapid-fire defense tech operations. **What You'll Architect** * **The Financial Engine:** Own the end-to-end monthly close process. You aren't just hitting deadlines; you are optimizing the "Close Playbook" to reduce cycle times while improving accuracy. * **Hardware-SaaS Convergence:** Manage the lifecycle of our maritime sensors. You will lead the charge on sensor-level costing, WIP, and cohort depreciation, applying sophisticated **ASC 360** and **PPE** guidance to a global fleet. * **Systems Transformation:** Serve as the functional lead for our **NetSuite migration**. You'll move us away from legacy tools and build a tech stack (FloQast, Brex, Mercury) that scales to $100M ARR. * **Policy \& Technical Accounting:** Work directly with the Controller to draft revenue recognition memos (ASC 606), shape capitalization policies, and ensure we are "audit-ready" at all times. * **Operational Alpha:** While you aren't afraid to dive into the GL or categorize a Brex charge, your goal is to automate the mundane so you can focus on flux analysis and margin optimization. **The Profile** * **The Foundation:** 3--5 years of experience, beginning with a **Big 4 or Top-Tier regional firm** (PwC, Deloitte, EY, KPMG, RSM, BDO). * **The Industry Edge:** 1--2 years of post-public experience in a high-growth startup, IoT, or Defense Tech environment is strongly preferred. * **The Tech Stack:** You know **NetSuite** cold. You've lived in FloQast or Numeric and view Excel as a strategic tool, not just a calculator. * **The Technical Chops:** You have a mastery of GAAP, specifically around WIP, Fixed Assets, and complex revenue streams. **CPA is highly preferred.** * **The Mindset:** You take extreme pride in "clean books."
